Laura is a brand strategist and client partner. Native to Vancouver, she joined hcma in 2020 after 13 years in London working across publishing, art, design, and brand.
As former Client Director for the brand writing agency Reed Words, Laura led projects across every sector, including for McKinsey, Formula 1, Disney, Sesame Street, and BBC Studios. She also partnered with renowned design studios, including Mucho, Superunion, and Studio.Build, to develop and deliver large-scale rebrands. Prior to her move into branding, Laura commissioned and edited art and design books, first at the Victoria and Albert Museum, and then the independent publisher, Thames & Hudson.
At hcma, Laura collaborates with clients and creatives to shape strategy and design, and leads on business development and client service. As an expert in naming, messaging and tone of voice, she ensures the verbal identity of every brand is as considered as its visual identity.
Laura holds a certificate in Digital Marketing from the London School of Business, an MA in English and Print Culture from the University of Toronto, and a BA Hons in English from the University of British Columbia.
The perfect day for Laura involves a long hike, good food, and a great book. She co-hosts The Book Club Review, a bi-weekly podcast dedicated to the books that get people talking.
