Poirier Sport and Leisure Complex

This 3,550m2 aquatic facility provides a light-filled natatorium complete with a 25 metre lap pool, warm water leisure pool, water features, hot pool, steam and sauna.  With an emphasis upon health and wellness the facility also includes a state-of-the-art weight training and cardio fitness facility.

The Poirier Sport & Leisure Complex is LEED Silver certified. Built on an existing parking lot, the building uses previously developed land, conserving vital greenfields and restoring some of the paved area into an ecologically productive landscape. The use of dual flush toilets and low flow fixtures, in addition to the innovative approach of reusing the pool water for the flushing of toilets and landscape irrigation, will significantly reduce the building’s water consumption.

The facility is uniquely accessible for families and patrons with special needs and features a universal change room design. With a reduced front set-back, the facility entrance and plaza offers a dynamic “streetscape” feel.
