Windsor International Aquatic and Training Centre

The Centre is an international space of competition and play. Host to the 2013 Children’s Games, the Windsor Aquatic’s Centre continues to foster sports excellence and fun for the community. The facility includes a 71.5m competitive pool tank with two movable bulkheads, a movable floor and a 10m dive tower; seating is provided for over 900 spectators and 600 competitors. Adjacent to the Aquatic and Training Centre is the 4,200 m2 Adventure Bay Water Park with adventure river, double flow rider, wave pool, tot and kids’ areas, activity pool and a dozen slides.

Support spaces include meeting rooms, program rooms, 550 m2 of fitness space and a large dry-play structure as well as administration, food services, sports club offices, media room and a large central atrium as a community focal point, which houses the Windsor-Essex Sports Hall of Fame.

This fast-track design-build project was completed in June 2013 in time for the complex to host the 2013 Children’s Games.
