We’re excited to announce the appointment of Rob Wilson and Corey Grobe as Associate Principals, taking on two new leadership roles at hcma: Head of Technical Design and Head of Design Realization.
These appointments mark a shift in how we’re delivering projects. Rob and Corey will lead our new Technical Design and Design Realization teams—groups of architects, designers, and technologists specifically focused on the contract documents phase and contract administration phase. Their work ensures the integrity of each design is carried through documentation and into construction, blending creative thinking with technical precision.
Since joining our Vancouver office over a decade ago, Rob has emerged as a clear leader. With deep technical knowledge, a sharp eye for detail, and a talent for navigating complexity, he brings a collaborative mindset to every project. As Head of Technical Design, Rob works with the architectural team, clients, contractors, and consultants to deliver integrated solutions and contract documents that meet both functional requirements and architectural vision. His extensive experience in aquatics and recreation has ensured smooth delivery on standout projects such as the internationally acclaimed təməsew̓txʷ Aquatic and Community Centre and forthcoming Royal Roads University West Shore Campus. Valued for his technical acumen and hands-on approach, Rob is widely respected across the construction industry.
Based in our Victoria office, Corey leads as Head of Design Realization. An architectural technologist with over a decade of experience in recreation centres, schools, and public safety facilities, Corey is known for his calm, diplomatic presence and technical expertise. On site, he’s a trusted presence—earning the respect of clients, contractors, and consultants alike. His leadership has driven success on major projects including the Harry Jerome Community Recreation Centre and Quw’utsun Secondary School. Corey’s ability to balance big-picture thinking with hands-on project management makes him a key force in bringing designs to life.
