Jen Cook

Director, Communication Design

Jen is a communication designer with 15 years of experience across tech, fashion, architecture, and museums. She joined hcma in 2024, after serving for seven years as Creative Director for Vancouver’s Science World.

As Director of Communication Design at hcma, Jen leads the team in the transformation of complex ideas and technical information into clear, accessible designs that connect with people. She thrives on solving the challenge of making difficult concepts easy to understand, ensuring that design serves both function and accessibility.

Jen is passionate about collaboration—working with and learning from others is central to her process. She believes that great design doesn’t just solve problems; it fosters connection and helps bridge gaps between information and audiences. Whether leading the award-winning brand refresh for Science World or co-curating community art programs, Jen focuses on crafting brands and experiences that are not only impactful but also intentional and inclusive.

Her approach is driven by a deep belief in the power of design to engage, inspire, and connect people. With a constant curiosity about how design intersects with other fields like art, entrepreneurship, and placemaking, Jen is always looking for ways to push creative boundaries while keeping the needs of the audience at the forefront.
