“I’m excited by architecture’s role in creating environments that facilitate important events in people’s lives. We can have a meaningful impact when we create solutions through a curious and respectful design process.”
Architecture can welcome people to gather, build excitement, spark curiosity, or invite reflection, each influencing our daily encounters. Darin is interested in how all levels of sport and recreation can have a positive social impact. He believes this contributes to the culture of our communities, and has the potential to enrich our lives.
Darin is passionate about designing sports and recreation facilities that can serve the needs of elite athletes, varsity teams, and the general community, and works closely with clients, user groups, and design teams to discover new ways architecture can improve our collective experiences. As an Associate Principal, Darin leads diverse teams on a range of community and collegiate projects including high performance sport, recreation, and aquatic facilities, and public space design.
Darin still spends time at his local skatepark and enjoys coaching and playing sports. He is happiest with his wife and three young children, and loves to see them experience new adventures.
