View Royal Public Safety Building

Location

View Royal, BC

The replacement View Royal Public Safety Building improves community safety by acting as a one-stop shop for protective services. hcma led a feasibility study and three public open houses in advance of a successful referendum in support of the replacement fire hall project. Careful site planning addressed various emergency response scenarios and general traffic, view line and acoustics concerns.

The new building provides space for career and volunteer fire fighters and includes a training area and four apartments for the volunteer association. It also functions as the Emergency Operations Centre for the Town of View Royal with additional meeting rooms for public education events.

“The functionality of the building is terrific and its location was chosen very carefully for rapid response. It makes a statement that says, ‘We have invested in wellness and invested in security.”
