UBC Okanagan Downtown Campus

Location

Kelowna, BC

Since its opening in 2005, the University of British Columbia Okanagan (UBCO) has been an important academic and community hub for the BC interior, based out of its campus on the edge of Kelowna.

UBCO Downtown is the next fulfilment of the university’s vision for the future: a vertical campus in the heart of downtown Kelowna that will further weave UBC into the region’s economic, social, and cultural aspirations – and directly into Kelowna’s urban fabric.

On completion, UBCO Downtown will be Kelowna’s tallest tower, with its ten storeys of academic programming topped by another 31 storeys of student housing. It will also be the city’s deepest tower, with four levels of underground parking.

On the academic levels, students and faculty will find the Faculty of Health and Social Development, which encompasses the School of Nursing, the School of Social Work, and the School of Health and Exercise Sciences. They will also find the Faculty of Creative Critical Studies, alongside classrooms, a public engagement learning suite, student services, and gathering spaces.

A significant milestone for UBCO, the City of Kelowna, and the Okanagan region, the downtown campus is set to be both champion and symbol of the region’s potential.
