The proposed project is a result of extensive planning and consultation, which resulted in the development of the Campus Master Plan. The project is targeting LEED® Gold accreditation.

The project addresses building condition and systems deficiencies of existing facilities with one level dedicated to general teaching and technology facilities; two levels dedicated to advanced science laboratories and faculty offices; and two levels of advanced chemistry and biology laboratories. A public transit terminus, constructed at the heart of the campus with associated access routes and civil engineering infrastructure, guarantees a fluid and dynamic campus.
