HCMA Announces three new Principals

How we live, work and play is changing radically. As a result, our role as architects and designers is changing, too. As a firm, we’ve made a conscious decision to be positive and proactive, to design for a better future. By expanding our practice, we hope to maximize our positive impact.

"Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up." Picasso

HCMA has an in-house artist-in residence program. We bring artists in to learn from their perspectives and to take part in our quest to imagine what’s possible. Community art centres, theatre and performance spaces, production labs, studios, workshops and galleries – these are the spaces where creativity is nurtured, refined, sometimes professionalized and always respected. As designers, we want people fall to fall in love with what’s going on in these spaces, to linger and really integrate the programs and services into their lives. We design buildings to make that happen.

The place is bursting with life, young and old inspiring one another at all levels of endeavour.
