Vancouver Fire Hall No. 15
The existing fire hall is a simple 1912 wood-construction building. One of the challenges was to weigh the potential heritage value of the existing structure against its functional and operational short comings. Close collaboration between users of this fire hall, stakeholders and consultants was key to successfully navigating the functional programme, site strategy and massing development.
The project is to be designed as a post-disaster facility and is targeting LEED® Gold Certification.
